Copper MV-105 is a premium, shielded power cable engineered for primary distribution in heavy industrial, commercial, and utility environments. Rated from 5kV up to 35kV, this cable is distinguished by its 105°C continuous operating temperature rating, which allows for higher ampacity and greater resilience during emergency overloads compared to standard 90°C cables. The construction features a high-conductivity annealed copper conductor, a semi-conducting stress-control shield, and high-dielectric Tree-Retardant Cross-Linked Polyethylene (TR-XLPE) or EPR insulation. A helically applied copper tape shield provides 100% coverage for electrostatic discharge and grounding, all protected by a sunlight-resistant, flame-retardant PVC jacket. UL-listed for cable tray (TC-ER) use, Copper MV-105 is the industry standard for mission-critical power infrastructure.
Installation Note: Copper MV-105 requires precise handling during termination. Because copper is heavier than aluminum, ensure that all vertical runs in cable trays are supported with appropriate cable cleats to prevent conductor creep. The copper tape shield must be grounded—typically at one end for short runs or both ends for longer runs to mitigate circulating currents—using specialized medium-voltage termination kits. Always maintain the minimum bending radius of 12x the outer diameter to protect the integrity of the shielding tape and the TR-XLPE insulation.
