SRML - 150ºC | 200ºC

SRML Wire, or Silicone Rubber Motor Lead Wire, is a specialized high-temperature electrical wire designed for extreme heat applications. It features flexible, stranded tinned copper conductors insulated with silicone rubber and often covered by a fiberglass braid for added mechanical protection. Rated for 600 volts and temperatures up to 150°C or 200°C, SRML wire maintains flexibility while resisting moisture, chemicals, and abrasion. It's commonly used as motor leads and for internal wiring in ovens, furnaces, high-wattage lighting, and other demanding high-temperature equipment. Read our SRML High Temp Wire Buyers Guide.

Industrial SRML Silicone Rubber Motor Lead Wire

SRML wire (Silicone Rubber Motor Lead) is the industry standard for applications requiring high-heat resistance combined with extreme flexibility. Featuring a stranded tinned copper conductor and a dual-layer insulation system of silicone rubber and a fiberglass braid, SRML is engineered to remain stable under constant thermal cycling. It is the primary choice for motor leads, transformer wiring, and high-intensity lighting where standard THHN or PVC wires would become brittle and fail. UL 3231• UL SFF-2 (18-14 AWG)• UL 3070 (18-12 AWG)• UL 3101 (10 AWG)• CSA AWM 1 A/B FT.

Key Features
  • High-Heat Flexibility: Rated for continuous use at 150°C to 200°C, maintaining its rubber-like flexibility even in extreme temperatures.
  • Dual-Layer Protection: The silicone rubber core provides excellent dielectric strength, while the treated fiberglass braid offers mechanical protection against abrasion and fraying.
  • Chemical & Moisture Resistance: Naturally resistant to ozone, radiation, and many industrial chemicals, making it ideal for harsh manufacturing environments.
  • Tinned Copper Conductors: Utilizes stranded tinned copper to prevent corrosion and ensure easy soldering and termination at motor terminals.
  • 600V Power Rating: Supports both standard control circuits and heavy-duty power distribution in industrial machinery.
  • UL Standards: UL 3231, UL SFF-2 (18-14 AWG), UL 3070 (18-12 AWG), UL 3101 (10 AWG)
Common Applications
  • Motor & Generator Leads: The preferred choice for internal wiring and external leads for high-horsepower industrial motors.
  • Transformer Wiring: Deployed in dry-type transformers where high-heat stability is required during peak loads.
  • High-Intensity Lighting: Used in stadium lighting, stage lamps, and industrial high-bay fixtures.
  • Industrial Ovens & Appliances: Ideal for wiring in commercial food equipment and drying systems where temperatures stay below 200°C.
  • Apparatus & Control Wiring: Frequently used in electrical heating equipment and specialized laboratory tools.
Installation Note
  • SRML is optimized for applications requiring frequent movement or vibration. If your project environment exceeds 200°C, you must transition to TGGT (250°C) or Type MG (450°C) to prevent insulation failure. For detailed load-carrying capacity, refer to the technical specifications on our individual product pages for SRML ampacity ratings.
